Plunked by PPP and de-ranked by Google, argh!

I may be the most unluckily blogger of the month. For one, three days ago, PayPerPost has de-listed this very blog to its roster of publishers for paid/sponsored reviews. Here’s what they said in the email they sent me:

As you know, we work really hard to make sure the blogs in our network are of the highest quality. So, you may have heard that we’re enforcing stricter controls for blogs submitted to the PayPerPost network.

Unfortunately, your blog (’ZangCaesar’) does not meet our standards for overall quality and will no longer be able to be used for accepting marketplace opportunities. Payments currently pending will still be made to your supplied PayPal address.

I know why this happened. I admit my blog is not of quality, as mostly its posts are paid. But it confuses me why my other blog, My Consoling Asylum, which most of the recent posts are also sponsored wasn’t chucked out of their system, and to know that that blog is no longer updated and yet still accepted in PPP marketplace, it’s just unbelievable. Could it be because it has been an Outstanding PPP Postie? Whatever! All the same, I am thankful there is still a blog of mine admitted in PPP. I will have to wait until PPP allows re-submission of plunked blogs. Until then, I won’t be able to make more money. I am still lucky though to have earn $200 for a month before PPP actually chucked me out. This has been my greatest earning in a month with them.

Lord Google punishes me

And as if PPP’s dumping of my site wasn’t enough, a day after I noticed that my PR button on my sidebar turned blank. I immediately checked my PR on some PR-checking sites and to my dismay Google took away what little PR (1) it gave to this blog. While checking the PR I also did a check on PRs of some of the sites I have and those of my friends in the blogosphere. Their PR hasn’t changed, and it was actually only mine that did. I don’t know if Google has updated PR already but it looked like they didn’t still. And sad to say, ZangCaesar is now PR-less. Why could that be? Because of the paid postings again? Well, I can only guess as we all know Google gets weird sometimes.

Nonetheless, I will continue to blog as if nothing bad happened, as if this untimely PR downgrading won’t ruin my Christmas.
