My friend Mckhoii has been buzzing me quite a few times this week asking what could be the greatest phone in the market today, as he is planning to buy a new one. I just bought mine last April so I am not in the heat to buy me a new phone. Although I had been quite pissed off with my Nokia N93i recently, I got it all fixed now and I am still loving my phone.

What’s next to my being a private duty nurse?

male nurse with stethoscope and holding nurse\'s notes

Last July 25, 2008, our three-month training as nurses at Davao Regional Hospital ended, and after a week I have finally gotten my training certificate. It doesn’t look good, honestly. But anyway, it will be useful for me especially in applying jobs related to nursing.

And now that the training is over, I planned of applying as a clinical instructor (C.I.) to our former clinical instructor, who is now a dean of Nursing at Western Visayas College of Science and Technology, as my friend Marc told me to, believing that the three months of training in the hospital, plus my credentials, will suffice for me to hired.

“Filipina Girl” sucks!

Filipina woman, \'yan ang pinay

But don’t react just yet. Read on…

I first heard about the song “Filipina Girl” at my blogger of a friend Kuya Mon some weeks ago. With the Filipino pride surging heavily through me like when I was (and still am) proud with the likes of Charlie Green, Madonna Decena, Arnel Pineda of The Journey, and even the homegrown singer of a young lady Charice Pempengco, I immediately listened to the song.

First I must commend Marcus Davis, Jr. for having created a song like this one. He too is proud of his Filipino descent, primarily from that of her Filipino mother, whom he gallantly mentioned in the lyrics. But truth be told, I don’t like the song very much. Filipina Girl sucks! This can even be one of the reasons why I haven’t heard it on the local FM stations. Never ever.

The longer, the better?

long pole

My hospital training at Davao Regional Hospital will end this Friday, and I am really looking forward to that. So today, as the president of all the trainees of this batch, I called for a meeting of us all officers, to lay out the plans for the upcoming graduation.

In six day’s time, my hospital training will be officially over, and I am wondering what I will do after. During the initial runnings of my training, I really wished that the training time would be longer. But now, forget it. We are getting closer to its end. I will be submitting applications to some nursing schools after and the local hospitals too. I want to work as a clinical instructor. The sad thing, though, is that most schools will only hire a nurse for a clinical instructor those with at least a year of hospital exposure. By that, I want to work in a hospital for a year first. But what an agony; hospitals here don’t pay much. And a year is somewhat too long. The longer is not the better.

What about circumcision?

The Pinoy Big Brother Issue

Kevin Flood of Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus

Kevin’s PBB-TEP profile photo

Circumcision appears rather a hot issue in Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus these days. Two of the PBB boys, Alex Anselmuccio and Kevin Flood, who came primarily from Europe, entered the house of Kuya with their European belief and culture of being uncut, although that has nothing to be focused about. It is in Europe where most boys are not circumcised, or where circumcision is not mandatory at all, as far as my knowledge and conviction tell me (thanks to the times I sneaked on my brother’s rather naughty video collections).

Alex decided to have his circumcision a couple of days ago, with the belief of being accepted socially (in Philippines) and also to help hundred Filipino kids circumcised for free. Kevin, during those days, kept his being uncut secret until some circumstances surfaced.
