Alzheimer’s Memory Walk

Posted by: Zang Caesar In: Web Reviews

As a registered nurse, I now work as a private duty nurse to an aged patient diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus. Since Thursday of last week, I have seen great improvements of him physical-wise, although sometimes, I can sense some dementia, though on a rare occasion, and I am happy that at 69 he is not showing any vivid, repeated signs of having Alzheimer’s disease.

Alzheimer’s disease can occur naturally to aged people, as this is a degenerative and terminal disease. It is the most common form of dementia and this is incurable. Typically, the onset of this disease is over 65 years old.

I know Alzheimer’s disease is not new to you, as a lot of aged people are afflicted by this, with an estimated 26.6 million people worldwide in the year 2006, with number increasing every year. This disease is oftentimes very hard to deal with as it causes a burden to the loved ones or the caregivers of the victim, and pressures of disease greatly involves psychological, social, physical and economic aspects of living.

If you have the heart to help people with this disease, why not take a part in Alzheimer’s Memory Walk? The Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk® is the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer care, support and research. Become a champion in the fight against Alzheimer’s by participating in this event. There are walks in more than 600 communities and it is about 2-3 mile walk held on a weekend morning in the fall.

Walk with a purpose. Dedicate your time for a walk that will move us closer to a world with Alzheimer’s. We can MOVE a nation if we MOVE together. Act now!
