I could not be any happier that my 3-month training as a nurse in Davao Regional Hospital (DRH) has come to its official conclusion yesterday. The Culmination Ceremony went mighty fine, thanks to all the trainees for their support and cooperation, and most of all for their trusting me as their, err, President. And so much more thanks to my officers who were there to back me up whenever I needed help. It would not have all been possible had you not helped me all along. I appreciate it very much…

Finally, the anticipated June 2008 Philippine Nurse Licensure Examination result is here!

First, I want to apologize to those who have subscribed to my blog to get the results right away. The time the result came out was also the time I was busy with our then upcoming Culmination Ceremony of training at Davao Regional Hospital.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 27,765 out of 64,459 passed the Nurse (First Timers, Repeaters, Removals) Licensure Examination given by the Board of Nursing in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga last June 2008. The result of examination with respect to one (1) examinee was withheld pending final determination of her liabilities under the rules and regulations governing licensure examinations.

My not-so-wonderful Project Wonderful

my project wonderful earnings to date

You see what I have earned so far with Project Wonderful? My golly, it’s all that I earned since I started putting PW slots on my blogs. I guess it was middle of January when I began doing so, and look how much I earned. $11.80 only? What a sluggish earning!

The longer, the better?

long pole

My hospital training at Davao Regional Hospital will end this Friday, and I am really looking forward to that. So today, as the president of all the trainees of this batch, I called for a meeting of us all officers, to lay out the plans for the upcoming graduation.

In six day’s time, my hospital training will be officially over, and I am wondering what I will do after. During the initial runnings of my training, I really wished that the training time would be longer. But now, forget it. We are getting closer to its end. I will be submitting applications to some nursing schools after and the local hospitals too. I want to work as a clinical instructor. The sad thing, though, is that most schools will only hire a nurse for a clinical instructor those with at least a year of hospital exposure. By that, I want to work in a hospital for a year first. But what an agony; hospitals here don’t pay much. And a year is somewhat too long. The longer is not the better.

miss universe 2008 crown

Had I not woken up late to go on with my hospital duty, I wouldn’t have been able to watch this year’s Miss Universe pageant.

The Venezuelans have again added to their list another Miss Universe grand winner as the 22-year-old Dayana Mendoza is hailed Miss Universe 2008 at the Crown Convention Center (Diamond Bay Resort ) in Nha Trang, Vietnam on July 14, 2008 Monday 8:30 AM EST, ending the reign of Miss Japan Riyo Mori as the Miss Universe 2007.

My official Nursing board exam rating has arrived!

a mail from professional regulation commission containing my official board rating for the nurse licensure examination i took last december 1 and 2 2007

Finally, my official board rating from the Professional Regulation Commision (PRC) has arrived last Thursday. Although I have already known my rating the day I filed for the acquisition of it, approximately four months ago, it still is different to have the official rate at last. The sad thing about Philippine government processes, though, is that it is really, really slow. That is why the progress of the country is also slow. Sigh.

The result of the Philippine Nurse Licensure Examination last December 2007 came out February 21 and my happiness cannot be contained seeing my name on the list. I was also the one who informed my batch about who passed among them, as on that day I was really watching out on the net what time the result would come out, refreshing the page every minute to see if the source had already been updated with the result.

Win with words

pen and paper (steno notes)While it is true that a picture paints a thousand words, conveying your message to the world with words still is a notch or two better than a picture. Transmitting message with words directly sets an input of thoughts and ideas to the one you are conveying it to. In my opinion, a good writer can bring more readers than a good painter can bring many viewers.

Words are really powerful. Pen is mightier than sword, it is said. In school, we are taught how to write stories, articles and essays as it is very important to know how to write with good grammar, composition and style. A good write-up is the one that sends to reader the feeling the writer has poured in the work of words, invokes readers with different emotions, and moves the reader to a pleasant start with something related to the article.

A Way to “Look” Cool

cheap stylish art deco-ish zenni optical $8 prescription eyeglasses framesSo you see that art deco-ish look of a pair of frames (right)? You can even see more, what with these days’ inventive and innovative eye wear crafting mechanisms. Fortunately, there is now the integration of fashion into usefulness. Thanks to the thoughtful manufacturers! There’s no longer the odd “look” wearing those unwelcome spectacles.

And eyeglasses, obviously, is one topic that we will be talking about.
