The lecture during the orientation for my hospital training in Davao Regional Hospital for three months

The lecture at the orientation

I ate up my words: while in the past few months I kept on saying I would not be finding something that is nursing related to occupy me, now I am in it.

Previously I was speaking of being a customer service representative, or more commonly called call center agent, and being a medical transcriptionist. But the circumstances were rather unfavorable. So I had no other choice but to jumpstart my nursing career, something which I have not hoped nor really wanted in the very first place.

Charlie Green: “Britain’s Got Talent” Half-Pinoy Child Wonder

Charlie Green of BGT

After Madonna Decena, there is yet again someone whom the Filipino community will be truly proud of. The ten-year old, half-Filipino Charlie Green made it to the semi-finals in “Britain’s Got Talent” (2008) and received a standing ovation during his live audition.

He confidently sang Frank Sinatra’s “Summer Wind” and earned praises not only from the audience but also from the judges Simon Cowell, actress Amanda Holden and journalist Piers Morgan.

Zang Caesar attends a lousy TPN seminar

Manuel and moi, during the TPN seminar for 8 units of continuing professional education in the Nursing career as new registered nurses

Manuel and moi, during the TPN seminar

As registered nurses, we have to earn continuing professional education units required by our profession. That’s 60 units for three years, or 20 units a year. And I think this ought to be a must. Oh well, I am not quite sure as I haven’t known any case in which a registered nurse who had not complied with this was de-licensed or what. Or maybe I may have just been unaware. Whatever!

Little Miss Poser: My Cameraphilic Cousin

Little miss poser cute child

Little Miss Poser

Kids these days have become super talented, and they tend to learn fast too. In the blogosphere, accounts of those who can be called “super kids” have been told, like these two sheer examples: Monaco’s niece became a substitute to do his blogging routine while sick with flu, and JoanJoyce’s daughter has now a blog of her own.

Clarisse Ann, a cousin of mine, is barely two years old and yet she knows perfectly how to show her charm when fronted with a camera, and in the case of no cameras at all, we’ll she would actually act her fond indication that she wants to be taken a picture or two, the indication being the tilting down of her head to the left and click-click her fingers in an eye (either left or right), as though it were the camera’s flash. Wise, girl! And who am I not to grant this little girl’s wish? She may become a model someday. That we don’t know, but we can only guess. It’s best to train her while young, and who knows, one day she’ll owe it all to me for being her eager trainer.

Britain’s Got Madonna Decena

Madonna Decena performing in Britain’s Got Talent

If America got a Filipina singer (or half-Filipina, that is) in the name of Ramiele Malubay in its “American Idol,” Great Britain also has its local talent show, “Britain’s Got Talent”-brewed Filipina power singer Madonna Decena.

Singing Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You”, Madonna took the crowd and the judges to a high level excite and cry of amazement, even to the point of standing ovation, with her mighty voice during the second episode of Britain’s Got Talent (GB’s version of “America’s Got Talent”) Season 2.

Them Doctors’ (and nurses’) “Black” Days: Cebu’s Black Suede Canister in Rectum Scandal

Black Suede Body Spray put in a man\'s rectum after sexual intercourse

Black Suede Body Spray

Now how would Teri Hatcher react if she watched the sick Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center video scandal, a.k.a “Cebu Black Suede Scandal”?

We can’t blame her; some Filipino health team workers don’t live up to the oaths they took as sworn to their profession, especially some doctors and staff of the above-mentioned hospital.

A blanket ban for Wordpress blogs?

Wordpress blogs banned in Brazil

Wordpress blogs are banned in Brazil

Just because a Wordpress blogger who published a post featuring a YouTube video embed of a couple having sex, all Wordpress blogs are or will soon be banned in Brazil? This sounds super crazy and, well, unfair. Although I don’t quite often get visitors from the said country, I still don’t see it a just act, and being banned in Brazil can, still, in a way affect incoming traffic nonetheless.

What about circumcision?

The Pinoy Big Brother Issue

Kevin Flood of Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus

Kevin’s PBB-TEP profile photo

Circumcision appears rather a hot issue in Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus these days. Two of the PBB boys, Alex Anselmuccio and Kevin Flood, who came primarily from Europe, entered the house of Kuya with their European belief and culture of being uncut, although that has nothing to be focused about. It is in Europe where most boys are not circumcised, or where circumcision is not mandatory at all, as far as my knowledge and conviction tell me (thanks to the times I sneaked on my brother’s rather naughty video collections).

Alex decided to have his circumcision a couple of days ago, with the belief of being accepted socially (in Philippines) and also to help hundred Filipino kids circumcised for free. Kevin, during those days, kept his being uncut secret until some circumstances surfaced.

My Vincent Bueno is on Asian Journal!

By saying “my Vincent Bueno,” I didn’t intend to claim him as mine. Just read on, so you’ll know…

Spending my time yesterday online got me kind of bored. Although there were many ideas (and even lists) that I have to do to post here in my blog, I was too lazy to start composing any of them, and while waiting for someone to chat with on Yahoo! Messenger, I whiled away my remaining time by searching for my name in Google Search.

A Bony Nightmare

skull and bones, deadly

Some dreams are deadly

Dreams, they say, have meanings. I definitely agree with that! They can be used as a tool to predict future events by way of bad omens or favorable signs. Even in the Bible, dreams foretold what was about to happen, and Joseph himself was gifted with the skill and knowledge to interpret dreams.

I’ve heard from many people before that once you had a dream that involved losing your tooth, it means an impending death of a close relative. Even some of my relatives can attest to that. This avenue of mystery is yet again what science could not just explain.
